What You will be doing:

As Head of Business Performance and Analytics, you will:

  • Lead a reliable, structured, effective and knowledgeable competence centre within TUI fly Belgium and The Netherlands for all operational data and business analysis.
  • Act as business partner towards the different operational business functions
    • To allow them to take data-driven decisions
    • To challenge them and suggest areas for improvement
    • Challenge the business on Crew productivity and Manpower planning
    • Detect trends and coordinate with the different responsible stakeholders within the business
  • Ensure delivery of reports related to KPIs and performance standards
    • Report deviations in operational performance, compared to historical performance as well as target
    • Advise & co-operate with the operational business functions regarding potential actions to improve performance
    • Highlight operational or quality issues encouraging pro-active resolution and securing operational integrity
    • Identify, collate and prioritise operational risks and issues, working with key partners to support corrective programs
  • Follow up and monitor Denied Boarding Compensations (DBC) cases
    • Report and monitor DBC trends, highlight exceptional situations and propose improvement opportunities to the owners within the business
    • Coordinate improvement initiatives specifically related to DBC across the organisation and closely cooperate with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the proposed initiatives get the appropriate level of attention
  • Work together with IT in a Business intelligence (BI) environment. You will lead the automation and digitalization of data collection & reporting tools
  • Co-operate with other business intelligence & analytics teams within TUI to align and evolve, share best practises, build a network etc.
  • Ensure that TUI fly Belgium & The Netherlands achieves industry best practice as well as knowledge of business developments through relevant reading, networking, meetings or attending conferences/workshops
  • Manage the Business Performance & Analyticsteam
    • Support, develop and coach team members
    • Set professional standards  to which the team are judged by and review the team standards
    • Be accountable for the performance and behaviour of the team
    • Translate the TUI fly Benelux strategy and objectives into specific and innovative projects for the Business Performance and Analytics team
    • Evaluate that the strategy is reflected in processes, procedures and tools
    • Ensure that the team works in accordance with the defined strategy and supports innovation
    • Ensure you and your team are acting according to TUI values and relevant policies

What we are looking for:

  • Have a master’s degree in business management, statistics, aviation or computer and information science
  • Be business/commercially oriented and  have a business/IT hybrid profile
  • Have a good knowledge of English, knowledge of other languages is desired but not essential
  • Have strong numeric, analytical and problem solving skills with eye for detail, at same time maintaining an overview
  • Experience in an aviation environment and in business performance and analytics is an asset
  • Be able to have a short-term focus while maintaining a strategic eye on the long-term view
  • Have good project management skills and experience (preferably project management experience in IT and Aviation)
  • Have strong numeric, analytical and problem solving skills with eye for detail, but at the same time be able to keep overview
  • Have knowledge of scripting languages such as R, Python, etc. is required, knowledge of Oracle and SQL is  desired but not essential
  • Be able to handle information in a confidential way and understanding and handling sensitivities related to this within the organisation
  • Be flexible
  • Be able to challenge, ask right questions to translate requests into relevant reports and analysis
  • Understand cultural differences, able to manage the complexity and ambiguity resulting from multiple stakeholders of differing sizes and based in different countries
  • Able to work, always innovating, in a rapidly changing environment, prioritizing accordingly
  • Able to easily develop a strong network of contacts throughout the business, gaining the support and commitment of key players to key projects
  • Be self-motivated to get things done, take initiative and work result-oriented
  • Able to challenge assumptions and to think out of the box
