September is an exciting month for many students. In 2017, no less than 14 students started their pilot training at TUI Belgium and they were all very excited! This is a unique programme offered by the TUI fly MPL Flight College. A dream came true for these 14 students!

In March 2017, TUI announced that they would launch a fully sponsored pilot training programme. The three-year training programme allows the students to learn the tricks of the trade while working for TUI!

This means they gain experience while earning a wage. In doing so, they help finance the training programme. After the programme, the students can start working as a First Officer with TUI fly. In brief, the first step towards a beautiful career in the aviation industry!

After the announcement of the TUI fly MPL Flight College, there were many selection rounds. The candidates first had to take a personality test and a coordination test, followed by individual interviews and a final presentation in front of a jury of experienced pilots. “Helping to build this programme is a unique experience,” says Olivier Boedt, Line Training and Standards Manager, proudly. “Removing the financial barrier, enabled us to address a very broad audience. We were able to focus on drive, personality and perseverance. The training programme offered by TUI is a real game changer in the aviation industry!"

The training programme has been going on for a while and everyone is very positive about it. Arne Delaye from the Cabin Training Department is very excited: “TUI enables people to learn about aviation from the inside, we make their dreams come true!” The students are also very positive: “Aviation is so much more than just flying; the training programme offers an all-inclusive package! We learn the tricks of the trade, from ground operations to flying. A dream come true!” 

In September 2018, we will be starting with the second class; the selection rounds will start soon. We are expanding the programme with new and promising opportunities! In 2018, we also offer a second option where you study fulltime and you can finish your pilot training in just one year! The selection rounds start soon. We are already looking forward to meeting the new, excited group of students!
